I am passionate about teaching.  I certainly know that all students are not necessarily passionate about social studies.  My goal is to attempt to tap into the passion that every student has, be it sports, music, art, reading, video games, or technology and have them be able to participate in class using the thing that they are most passionate about.

If a student is a musician and they want to write a song about the Declaration of Independence, so be it.  If a student is an artist and they want to construct a mural about the Civil War, so be it.  If a student is an athlete and they want to create a physical activity that demonstrates their knowledge of nuclear warfare, so be it.  I firmly believe that as a teacher it is important to tap into the existing passions of our students and allow them to express their knowledge of social studies through whatever passion they have.
